Palin vs Obama

A new McCain ad highlighting the McCain campaigns evaluation of the relative qualifications of Obama and Palin. In the ad McCain attacks Obama for supporting tax breaks for oil companies. Now there is a novel concept. Pick a VP candidate who raised taxes on oil companies and pretend you are not for extension of ALL of the current favorable tax treatment given to big oil. Whatever the relative merits of the candidates I ask you this. Who will oil company executives being voting for in November? If you said John McCain you are correct.

    Your Honor,

On the koolaid again. She took on big oil that corrupted her fellow Republican politicians.

She threw out the deals made and made new ones, with a better return for the people and, get this now, RETURNED THE MONEY TO THE PEOPLE’S POCKETS. Unheard of.

Does that sound like Deval Patric getting me a property tax cut?

    YOU GO GIRL
    VOTE YES ON PROP 1

    Your Honor,

The attached story summarizes some of Palin’s accomplishments. It is a Wall Street Journal column by Kimberley Strassel

As I have said in prior posts her actions on the whole “Murkowski” matter have been outstanding. She made the right moves that served the overall interests of the state of Alaska, and not the needs of the Republican cronies running the show. I not only admit it but offer high praise for her actions, which required political courage.
Without getting into a rant it is that wing of the Republican Party that controlled Congress for so long. The Delay team practiced “crony capitalism” to a degree not seen before. Their reward has been political exile.
I recognize that corruption exists in both parties but the Republicans institutionalized theirs by allowing lobbyists to write bills impacting their own industries, by making K Street an arm of the RNC, etc, etc. Money, and not the national interest, has been the determining factor in producing policy for Republicans. That needs to change.
