The False Maverick

Obama hits back on the change theme, pointing to the lobbyists working for the McCain campaign, as well as his solid record of support for George Bush. And Governor Palin will be dinged here as well, with the charge that she was “for the bridge to nowhere before she was against it”. Both campaigns see “change” as an important issue, and both want to hold that high ground. We see McCain making real progress on the issue. Can Obama turn it around?

    Your Honor,
The call for “hope” and “change” is not a strategy. These are words that appeal to emotions without any specifications or benefits, therefore it is impossible to have declare sole ownership by any one campaign. It becomes like a game of capture the flag.

These words have been used for the last 50 years of my voting life and probably for a long time before that.

I have found these words to be a substitute for those without ideas.
