Obama Sweeps Clinton

Senator Barack Obama won convincingly in three contests last night, putting further pressure on Hillary Clinton. In Louisiana Obama romped. Those numbers:

Louisiana:

Obama 57%

Clinton 36%

Other 7%

In Washington Obama also romped.

Washington:

Obama 68%

Clinton 31%

Other 1%

In Nebraska Obama coasted (as opposed to romped)

Nebraska:

Obama 68%

Clinton 32%

Obama also won caucuses held in the Virgin Islands. The financial edge that Obama is enjoying certainly is giving him an advantage moving forward, as he was on the air in Washington for over a week. The delegate count is just about dead even, which will give added importance to the super delegates, and make the issue of seating the Florida and Michigan delegations crucial. More on FLA and Michigan later.

If one takes careful note Sen Obama wins in states that go republican in general elections and Sen Clinton wins in states which have high electoral vote count..in other words she has a better chance of actually winning the election in November and it is the Democratic party which has candidates who are both remarkable in their own right.

Massachusetts is a prime example of the electability of Sen Clinton. Irrespective of teh endorsement of our Senators and the vaunted grass roots army of the Governor, the
mainstream voters of teh Democratic party voted Clinton.

Elections are won by the center, not either right nor left of the political spectrum.

It is activists mainly from the far left who dominate caucus activites and most primaries and this fact to a large extent is teh key to Sen Obama’s victories.

Yes he inspires the youth and might keep the torch alive, but it is the heirs of Bobby Kennedy who support Sen Clinton.

I think it is undeniable that Obama has had success in red states and smaller states where Democrats have not fared well in general elections. Despite that fact the delegate counts are just about dead even, and Obama has to be considered to have some degree of momentum. (What will happen in the Virginia, DC, Maryland primaries this week?)Obama is also continuing to raise incredible amounts of money with small donations. Let me close by saying with no malice of thought that Obama appealing to young folks certainly places you on the Clinton side of the demographic ledger.
