Blair on Climate Change

Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair is now the chairman of the Breaking the Climate Change Deadlock Initiative. This interview with Charlie Rose runs the gamut and shows Blair to be engaged and pragmatic on this issue. I have always found Blair to not only be a good speaker, but someone who can synthesize complex issues and bring some clarity to that complexity. He recognizes the difficulties involved here, and candidly acknowledges the tough political terrain. Good stuff.

    Your Honor,

I Listened to this drivel. Here was Blair bumbling his way through the global warming fraud. He knew, though the political mine field he was entering. He no solutions because there is no problem.

Now before you get your dander up I will agree our environment is pretty filthy and needs cleaning for health reasons.

    1. If Al Gore is right and he has given us only ten years to the end, then we have no longer than 8 years to fix it all. Even Blaire said we can’t get there by then. I propose we meet at Salsbury Beach for an earth ending party. What do you think?

    2. Truth is Tony Blaire, Charlie Rose, Mayor Manzi or Jules Gordon don’t know anything about the science of global climate. So why should you political types heap taxes, funny carbon balances and a whole host of world view regulations on us to resolve an unknown problem?

    3. AS Tony Blaire stumbled through his unknown solution, he made it clear that to carry this unknown solution would require a global warming Tzar. NO WAY

By the way, you saw clarity in this video? Wow.

I saw clarity in his approach to the China/India question, which is one raised by conservatives frequently. I thought Blair came down on the conservative side there. I also note that the candidate that you support for President acknowledges the problem of global warming. Blair is a unique politician that can both speak to and bring gravitas to an issue. Despite that he certainly made the wrong call on British involvement in the Iraqi debacle.

    Your Honor,

Very astute of you to bring the Iraq war into the global warming debate.

I make note here that John McCain knows as much about man-caused global warming as you do, that is absolutely nothing (me too). Sara Palin, however agrees with me. Keep in mind that I am convinced whoever wins we are putting a liberal in the White House.I support McCain because the alternative is an unacceptacle Liberal.

I then personally invite you to join me at Salsbury Beach to celebrate Al Gores predicted “end of the earth day” in eight years. I’ll bring fried chicken for all.

    Dress for warm.

Well I thought you should realize that I do not always agree with Blair, but I think any neutral observer can say whether a speaker has a grasp on subject matter. And Blair usually has such a grasp. You see Jules everything is not colored by ideology. There are some Dems who speak on subjects that they should not speak on. Blair clearly is a smart guy, even when I disagree with him.

Blaine is an astute politician and saw the problems trying to bring what he thinks is a global climate problem under control without any knowledge of the problem (if there is one).

    All politics no science here.
