A Historic Day for Seabrook and Hampton — New Bridge Opening!
Yesterday, October 27, members of the Seabrook Board of Selectmen joined officials from Hampton, Executive Councilor Janet Stevens, and representatives of the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) for a special ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the soft opening of the new Hampton–Seabrook Bridge on Route 1A.
Seabrook Select Board Chair Theresa Kyle joined the Hampton Select Board Chair Carleigh Beriont and Executive Councilor Janet Stevens in cutting the ribbon, officially marking a major milestone in this important infrastructure project.
Following the ceremony, Seabrook Police and Fire vehicles, along with their counterparts from Hampton, were among the first vehicles to cross the new bridge. It was a fitting way to recognize the importance of this connection between our two communities, particularly for public safety and emergency response.
The Seabrook Board of Selectmen was pleased to participate in this occasion, which represents years of planning, engineering, and construction. The new bridge will provide a modern, reliable connection between Seabrook and Hampton, eliminating the traffic interruptions associated with the old drawbridge.
Our thanks to NHDOT, the project contractor SPS New England, and all of the engineers, construction workers, and public officials who helped bring this project to this important milestone.
While additional construction work remains, yesterday was an opportunity to recognize a significant accomplishment for both communities.
Congratulations to everyone involved, and a special thank you to the Seabrook Board of Selectmen for representing our community at this historic event
