Governor to Name Kirk

It appears that Governor Patrick will announce this morning that he is naming Paul Kirk as the interim U.S. Senator. Kirk, a Kennedy family confidante, is the choice of the family, and if selected will show that the Kennedys still have plenty of clout in Massachusetts. Governor Patrick will bypass former Governor Michael Dukakis, a fact that is not sitting well with many Dukakis loyalists in the Democratic Party. Almost a no win situation for the Governor politically. The Governor has scheduled an 11:00 a.m. press conference to make the formal announcement.

    Your Honor,

This guy is a multimillionaire Health care lobbyist wonk who must, by the definitions I perceive this blog population believes, must be a Republican. Is Deval making a mistake?

    Mayor Manzi:

It is a shame that the Governor has to be armstwisted by a Kennedy to pick a person for the Senate. Thank goodness the Kennedy’s do not arm twist you in Methuen politics.

    Your Honor,

You have left the 7th entry on your blog entry “Health Insurance Cost Spiral to Continue” goes unanswered and the blog is about to be kicked off the page.

Is this part of your wish to have a logical discussion?

It should have been “The Duke.” He would have been a great pick for this job. He was also a very early Patrict supporter. But I guess Teddy still calls the shots, even from the great beyond.

Health care lobbyist wonk or not, he did a fine and most sincere job hosting his friend’s Irish memorial service. Unlike most national politicians, he strikes me as a decent person…
