Roger Federer once again engaged in a five set war at Wimbeldon, this time winning a marathon fifth set 16-14 and becoming the man with the most major titles ever, passing Pete Sampras with his fifteenth major. It was a great match that drew even non tennis fans by its sheer ferocity. Federer has a huge heart, and it showed in the second set tie breaker, where Roddick had four set points but could not put Federer down. Federer winning that second set saved the match for him, and the fifty aces he fired by Roddick didn’t hurt either. Andy Roddick played a great match and really showed heart as well. He just did not have the killer instinct that Roger Federer has.

Your Honor.
Who cares?
I will take this opportunity to wonder why all Obama stuff has all but disappeared from this blog.
My guess is that being a politician and a bright fellow his maniac action have overreached too far even for a partisan as your self.
I understand that.
Are you planning for the coming inflation. I hope you are. I know you will have face another federal shortfall next year and will have to go through this all over again.
The difference is 10% of the folks will be out of work, and the dollar will worth less.
Maybe you do a Sarah Palin.

Your Honor,
More Obama Stuff. In previous blogs I tried to introduce you to the vagaries and limits of developing alternative energy especially by Obama fiat. T Boone Pickens, who, like Obama, lectured us on the future of wind energy, ad naseum, used his own wealth (I guess he got hold of some grant or stimulus stuff) and took on creating a wind farm. Now he has just threw in the towel. Can’t compete with existing energy costs.
He now has undertaken to push natural gas, explaining there is enough reserves on American soil to last decades. Now that makes sense to me. If we generate electricity with natural gas and Atomic power, I believe can achieve a couple of goals at low technical risk; substantial reductions in pollutants; and relieve ourselves of foreign dependence. The technology is there and just has to implemented. I would even favor a do-over on power lines from ‘stimulus’ money. Sadly, your super majority friends in congress will nix all that.

On Pickens:
My online tech sources say something a little different: old T Boone was trying to get the government to fund the distribution system from his farm to the grid, and then take that corridor by eminent domain so that he could build out a water pipeline and use his panhandle water rights. Can’t blame the guy for trying, but looks like someone caught on. Meantime, anyone got room for 2B worth of turbines?

The problem with any fossil fuel is the effect on climate change. We have to get off the stuff. (though I wonder when Methuen will become Atlantic beachfront. Hum …).
