Indiana Senator Evan Bayh will retire rather than run for re-election in the fall according to Chris Cillizza over at the Fix. Bayh’s decision is a blow to the Democratic Party, which will be hard pressed to hold this seat in Indiana. Bayh had been looking at a challenge from former Senator Dan Coats, but is sitting on a $13 million dollar war chest and a twenty point lead in the polls. Despite that Bayh has chosen not to run.
