The President makes the case for health care reform before the Congress. The President’s speech was interrupted by Republican Rep. Joe Wilson, who shouted “you lie” when the President was speaking to the issue of coverage of illegal immigrants. It was a stunning breach of protocol, and even members of the Republican Party condemned the outburst. Wilson himself later issued an apology. From the New York Times:
His office later issued an apology, saying: “This evening I let my emotions get the best of me when listening to the president’s remarks regarding the coverage of illegal immigrants in the health care bill. While I disagree with the president’s statement, my comments were inappropriate and regrettable. I extend sincere apologies to the president for this lack of civility.”
The President took on his critics directly, attempting to dispel some of the myths surrounding his proposal. Did the President make his case effectively?

I slip you a great question in your on-line debated , which you hit out of the park, and you reward me with your brain dead hit the republican moment when Joe Wilson blurred out the truth “you are a liar”.
I send him an “at-a-boy” and chastised him for apologizing.
If you take your mind back in history, you will remember the Democrats booed then President Bush during his State of the Union Address.

Congressman Joe Wilson shouted out, “YOU LIE”!! during the President’s speech. The President retorted with “Not true”, quietly. Speaker Pelosi looked shocked as did Harry Reid. We were all shocked at the obvious and intentional rudeness. It sounds like Joe Wilson only wanted his 15 minutes of fame and that is exactly what he has received. It worked and everyone now knows that Joe Wilson is nothing but a big-mouthed Republican phony. Other straight-thinking Republicans were disappointed in his ridiculous actions.
Then to add insult to injury, Wilson immediately gave a back-handed apology to the President and to the White House. How convenient. He apologized by saying, “While I disagree with the President’s statement, my comments were inappropriate and regrettable. I extend sincere apologies to the President for this lack of civility.
Representative Wilson’s outburst is actually the cry and reflection of the conservatives who refuse to negotiate the health care issue and anything else for the good and welfare of all people in America. However, now we can move forward, without bias or consequence, without bi-partisanship or tri-partisanship. Nice. Very Nice.

The house bill does not provide for punishment so illegal aliens can still be serviced.

The bill specifically prohibits benefits to illegals. What the Republicans are saying is that the provisions on penalties or administration are not sufficient to stop services from being provided. Maybe that can be debated, but even if correct that does not mean that the bill allows such services to be given. If you disagree on the penalties or enforcement of a crime, you cannot say reasonably that the law allows the crime to be committed because you disagree with enforcement provisions. That does not make any sense.
As a further question I wonder what happens today when an illegal gets sick and goes to a hospital emergency room. Are they given medical attention? If so then would it be fair to say that Republicans favor free medical care for illegals because they favor the current system? Just wondering???

Muddled paragraph 1.
If stealing is illegal and you are arrested for holding up a bank (stealing), but there is no penalties provided in the law, what does the judge sentence to? You walk.

Here’s my solution:
When identified as an illegal immigrant, the emergency room perform a triage and then do one of the following;
1. If the diagnosis shows the symptoms can be performed later, put the person on an airplane with the triage report and let them see their doctor in their own country.
2. If the diagnosis requires immediate attention it should be done and then the immigrant should be sent home with a hospital bill to be paid for in 30 days.
Actually the bill is fluid and is not set, so I don’t know what we are talking about (including the President).
According to Judge Andrew Nepolotano on FNC according to our constitution if a law effects all citizens then it applies to all foreigners, legal or illegal. Thus the President is in fact a liar.

What the Republicans are saying is that although the bills says it doesn’t cover illegals, the bill requires no verification of citizenship; ERGO, illegals will be covered. This, in addition, to all the other LIES that this LYING snake oil salesman is pushing.
