McAuliffe Crushed in Virginia

State Senator Creigh Deeds easily cruised to victory in the Democratic primary for Governor, crushing Clintonista Terry McAuliffe 50% to 26%, with Brian Moran coming in at 24%. Deeds will face off against former state A.G. Bob McDonnell, who defeated Deeds in a very close race for A.G. in 2005. Deeds had been shown by the latest Suffolk poll to be the candidate with momentum, and that was borne out by the final numbers. As Terry Mcauliffe licks his wounds today maybe he is thinking of that old Beatles tune “Money Can’t Buy Me Love”. And maybe some of the Obama folks have not quite forgotten his zeal for Hillary.

    Your Honor,

Old combatants will make the Governors race entertaining. I presume we will here all the old, tired phrases (tax break for the wealthy)

Anyone care to comment on who may emerge to run against Governor Deval Patrick? The setting is ripe for a repeat of the clean house mentality of before. Minor reforms have been presented. Let’s see them get down to the meat of the issues!
