The President talks about the deficit in his weekly address, and frankly acknowledges our current unsustainable fiscal path. He announced support for a restoration of the pay-go system, as well as saying that announcements will be coming soon on the elimination of federal programs that do not work. Good luck in getting Congress to eliminate anything. Their idea of fiscal discipline is cutting program growth rates and announcing “budget cuts”. A good subject for the President to deal with, but change will not be easy in this area.

our Honor,
I believe we’ve heard this BS before. Right out of the starting line the promise of “NO LOBBYISTS” and “TRANSPARENCY” never got off the ground.
No Tarp 2 or stimulus posted or even printed in time for member review before voting.
Lobbyists were hired.
Tax cheats were either hired of fell by the way side by the droves. Is there an honest Democrat?
This guys uses the word invest in place of tax.
The federal government is only capable of interfering with job creation not creating jobs. Those who are hired by the federal Government add to the tax burden.
I like his idea of reviewing the entire budget for modernizing and bring in line with economic and safety efficiency. However, most items are pet projects and vote gaining efforts.
I am willing to risk a week of coffees that says he has no intent on doing any of these things, just pontificating.
Are you mezmorized by him?

Jules, I think you should re-think everything.
I just heard Our Fearless Leader say that Janet Napolitano will be cutting FIFTY TWO MILLION DOLLARS from her budget in five years time by ordering office supplies IN BULK.
How could we have been SO WRONG???

Patrizia,
Actually, if she ran out of office supplies maybe she would not have anything to print that “right wing terrorist” insult and I would not be classified as a RWT.
