Sumo Wrestling: Newt Vs Rush

Rush Limbaugh has launched an attack on Newt Gingrich after Gingrich somewhat dismissed him on Sunday’s Meet the Press. Here is some vintage “El Rushbo” from Politico:

“I’m frankly getting tired of talking about Newt. I mean, it’s a pointless exercise,” Limbaugh said of Gingrich’s dismissal of him on “Meet the Press.” “I’m surprised by nothing when I’m dealing with people in the media who think they’re in politics. … They are fly-by-night operators, and most of them stand for nothing until they see a poll about what the American people want, and then they go out and try to say one way or another what the American people want while trying to falsely hold onto an ideology at the same time — and you can’t count on them. You can’t depend on them. They will sell you out; they will throw you overboard to save themselves, faster than anything. And they’ll use you on their way up as often as they can at the same time.”

“I mean, next week Newt could come out and profess his total admiration and love for me if it would serve his purposes,” he continued. “They’re running TV ads against me. Newt Gingrich wishes they were running TV ads against him.”

First off, how dare Newt Gingrich attack the titular leader of the Republican Party??? Secondly, how long before Newt joins the long list of Republican’s forced to apologize for their intemperate remarks about “El Rushbo”.

Well, I just cannot believe that you are not joining me in my defense of Rush Limbaugh! After all this time telling me that I ought to pay more attention to Rush it is a mystery to me why you are not joining myself and Rush in condemning the outrageous attacks upon his personage by Speaker Gingrich. (And by Michael Steele, and by David Frum). Why can’t we discuss Rush without everyone getting into a tither? Let me just say “ditto” to the Rush remarks about Newt. Do I hear any “dittos” out thar!

    Your Honor,

Now you are baiting me. Unlike you, I actually listened to what Newt Gingrich had to say and it was exactly the thing as Rush. The problem is Rush used a general term saying, I hope Obmam fails. The follow on is they both want Obama socialist policy to fail. Rush said that and Newt said it too.

Actually the Republican party needs this discussion. A lot of souls searching is required. Leaders (not Rush) must arise. I expect the Democratic hit machine will attempt to denigrate him as well. That’s Emanuel’s job along with his posse. Have you been sworn in.

    PS
I assume you are being belligerent in these blogs so you don’t have parade the false steps the President is going through in trying to enact all his Socialist policies all at once.

Are you being a fair weather friend? Again? Twice in one week?

What do you have against Rush? Are you not of the body (and boy, that’s some body …)?

    Jules my Friend,

What kind of blog has this become, where friendship is taken for hostility, where warm support is taken for baiting. If you are indeed correct, and Newt and Rush were saying the same thing, then why did Rush take exception to Newt’s comments? It is a simple question. And I must protest your thought that these Rush postings are a diversion from the Obama drive towards socialism. They are nothing of the sort. They are, my friend, such good fun.

A staunch defender of El Rushbo,

    Your Honor,

If Newt plays his cards right and doesn’t fizzle (doesn’t apologize to Rush), he will be the new head of the RNC. One can only have the audacity to hope.

I thought of that too! But I still think Rush is best for the job: He can form a parseable English sentence (unlike Sarah P), and he can deliver it (unlike Bobby J). It’s an unbeatable one-two punch!

Rush For President! Rush for Vice President!

    Jim and Fred,

Do you guys occupy the same pen.

    Your Honor,

I apologize for taking you kind jabs as baiting.

I support you having a good time. Rush got angry because Newt paraphrased his comments in the same manner as RNC Chairman Steele. He’s a sensitive guy you know, just like me.

You will have to excuse me, I just got my $13 dollar check in and must go out and stimulate.

I am, after all, a good American.

    Cheerio, Jules

In order to better respond to your query, would that be ‘pen’ as in literary, jail cell, or sty?

    Fred,
It’s obvious that you have WAY too much adoration for His Largeness so I shall refrain from expressing the same sentiment, but Jules is still ‘da bomb!’
