Schuster and Ziegler Slug over Palin

Filmaker John Ziegler (whose upcoming film on Obama’s election win was highlighted here a couple of days ago) slugs with MSNBC’s David Schuster over (yes, you guessed right) Sarah Palin. (Maybe Jules is right, I just can’t help myself). Some pretty good TV, with Ziegler at one point calling Schuster a “joke”, and Schuster calling Ziegler out on his being a Palin apologist. I thought Ziegler outflanked Schuster somewhat, but the shouting match probably mitigated that to a degree. Great stuff, and Ziegler gets a truckload of free P.R. for his upcoming film.

    Your Honor,

Have you noticed that Sarah Palin is getting more face time than the Vice President-elect Joe What’s-his-Name?

    Jules,
Perhaps that’s because Biden’s doing REAL work on his trips to Afghanistan, Iraq, and Pakistan and doesn’t have the same insatiable need to get his ego stoked as she does, rather than doing the people’s work in Alaska like she should be (and protecting the country from Russia’s invasion as the mayor earlier noted)…

    Jim,

VP What’s-his-name hasn’t been heard from since just before the election. He’s in the dog house. (Maybe Obama could bring him home for the kids. Except for diarrhea of the mouth he’s in good health.)

Even in his Asian journey he doesn’t do news interviews.

Sarah distributed oil revenues at the rate of $1200 per citizen in Alaska. What has Deval sent you? Are you still waiting for your real estate tax cut?

    Jules,
Actually, it’s worse than that. I’m now looking for a job (laid off in December after 28 years) so that I can keep my real estate…

Not that the policies of the past eight years had anything to do with that.

    Jim,

You kept your job for the last eight years. Then Barney, Frank, Acorn et al talked the banks into subverting good loan practices which, in the end, caused the financial market to collapse. For this Barney et al got a 5% raise.

You should call Barney and thank him. Also congratulate him on the new raise YOU are funding.

I am truly sorry you lost your job and hope you find a new one.

    Jim,

Are all the test engineer jobs gone from the area?

I am a design engineer. I am past retirement, but still do contract work. I finished up my contracts and find there is no much around.

Are you going to change occupations?

    Jules,
Pretty much gone except for defense, which seems to be tough to break into when you have ~29 years in telecom, no defense background, no security clearance, and with a hell of lot more technically capable people out of work for far longer than I have been. The resume submission process via any company’s website is like a black hole, never to be seen or heard from again.

Like you though, I’m also looking into contract work hoping to at least get my feet wet in defense, and which will hopefully get me a more diverse background. However, your statement about even contract jobs drying up doesn’t give me much hope…

As far as changing occupations, I’ve also done carpentry on the side. While I also hope to give that a go in the meantime, that too is a tough market at the moment…

Damn, I should have been a nurse or doctor!!!!

    Jim,

There are courses for all kinds of medical technicians. A friend was cutting cloth then decided to go to school for his x-ray technician license. He’s doing well.

Check them out. Also hospitals have a lot of electronic devices that have to be serviced. I don’t know if your skill can be applied.

You are right, medical and education are the more steady occupations today.

    Good luck.

    Your Neocon Buddy,

    Jules
