Picking 49 out of 50

With North Carolina finally called for Obama and Missouri for McCain I must now step forward and do some bragging (in a modest way) about my electoral map selections. I picked 49 out of 50 correctly, with Indiana being my only misstep. I had picked McCain to win Indiana, but Obama won the state by one percentage point. I have attached my map and the actual map below it. Obama won 364 electoral votes, and I had him at 353. I will now become even more insufferable, and may take an extra victory lap to drive Jules crazy!

    Your Honor,
I was gracious and congratulated you on the overwhelming victory your party enjoys.

How did you respond? That giddy blog on the Republican infighting you wrote about.

Now you want take another victory lap?

I will stand tall and proud and be the conscious of conservative values. (Remember, Obama did not run against those values. I just hope the Republican architects who planned this fiasco go away.)

There is a problem with your map. I count only 50 states. What happened at the other 9?

    Bring it on.

The other nine (7 in the continental United States) have not been awarded any electoral votes yet, so I chose not to include them!

I wonder how the CD-2 (Omaha) electoral vote in Nebraska will go. As of this morning McCain was leading Obama there by 569 votes, but there are still 8,000+ provisional ballots yet to be counted. I think this might be the first time that a proportional state (either Nebraska/Maine) has split their electoral votes, if Obama does end up snatching CD-2 from McCain.

    Your Honor,

I assume, then, thy are red states.

I counted CD-2 for McCain in my calculation, and it may in fact swing the other way, but I will discount that and still claim 49 out of 50. If CD-2 goes Democratic then I will attach a very small asterik.

I am not sure if they are red or blue, but Maybe President Obama will make them first on his list to visit. After all it was him who created them.

    CD-2 went for Obama, giving him 365 EV’s to McCain’s 173 EV’s.
