Senator Barack Obama, making history and re-writing the electoral map, defeated John McCain to become the 44th President of the United States. Senator McCain has just offered a gracious concession, and Obama is poised to speak in front of a huge crowd in Chicago. History has been made. I will post the Obama and McCain remarks shortly.

Oh my aching head!! As I revisit the mayor’s electoral map predictions of 10/27/08, I’m amazed at how almost on the mark you were with your predictions. Do I sense the rise of another Karl Mar.., er, Rove, protege?!

I was going to do a separate post on that, bragging about how I came oh so close to going fifty for fifty. If North Carolina holds for Obama and Missouri for McCain then I believe I am 49 out of 50, with Indiana having thrown me off by a minute percentage.

Well I was not voting for Obama, but I do congratulate him in his historic win. I hope in the weeks ahead he and Vice President Elect Biden hosts a Unity Summit with Senator McCain / Gov Pallin and bring a healing and touching the issues that brought so much pain emotion and excitement in this election.
