Tim Russert Passes Away

Tim Russert, the NBC News Washington Bureau Chief and the host of Meet the Press, has died suddenly, apparently of a heart attack. Russert, who was 58, was recording for the Sunday Meet the Press program when he was stricken. Russert was a giant in journalism, and he will be missed.

All the networks paid tribute to Tim, but the Sunday edition of Meet The Press was the most moving. The most often used words used to discribe Tim Russert were LOYALTY, GOOD FATHER and MENTOR. Qualities sorely lacking in many areas of life today. On this Father’s Day it is worth noting that the two books he wrote were about fathers and BEING a father. He will be missed.

This is a huge loss. I started to follow politics at just about the same time that Tim took over as host of Meet The Press. I looked forward to watching him every week. This year’s election will not be the same without him. It’s very sad. Rest in peace Timmy.
