Richardson endorses Obama

A.P. is reporting that Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico will endorse Barack Obama at an event today in Portland, Oregon. Richardson is the only Hispanic governor in the country, and his endorsement was heavily sought by both Obama and Clinton. Richardson’s statement, from the Washington Post:

“I believe he is the kind of once-in-a-lifetime leader that can bring our nation together and restore America’s moral leadership in the world,” Richardson said in a statement obtained by the AP. “As a presidential candidate, I know full well Sen. Obama’s unique moral ability to inspire the American people to confront our urgent challenges at home and abroad in a spirit of bipartisanship and reconciliation.”

Richardson mixed in words of praise for Hillary:

Richardson praised Hillary Clinton as a “distinguished leader with vast experience.” But the governor said Obama “will be a historic and great president, who can bring us the change we so desperately need by bringing us together as a nation here at home and with our allies abroad.”

Obama makes a nice pickup that should be helpful with the Hispanic constituency, where Hillary has been pretty strong.

Frist of all, if you want poeple to take you seriously, shave off that silly beard, Governor. This endorsment only proves that Governor Richardson is a man who doesn’t know the meaning of loyalty. I guess two prior Clinton cabinet positions were not enough for him. Without the Clintons, Richardson would have been running for the Santa Fe City Council this year, not President.

I just heard Rev, Wright’s sermon on you tube, and I am really disappointed in you. I do not see Obama as you do and I am happy to say that all that work with including many hispanics do not either. He should be ashamed of his reverend and stop making excuses for him and himself. He is black as I am Japanese and he really needs to own it and stop making excuses for all that has happened or so he says. He did all right even getting Oprah and Kennedy on his side although I believe Oprah thinks this is her way into more power, but at the end of the day she is still a black woman with the same black face. He definetly will not get our vote or the votes of all my fellow workers. At least most people are not influenced by endorsements, yes the hispanics here. Did you notice Obama did not win California,(Shriver) Massachusetts(Kerry and Kennedy). So we shall see. I just wanted to let you know this and you lost a follower, we were hoping Hillary would pick you for the veep but not now. Lillian and ll the 76 fellow workers
