The Eagle Tribune today endorsed me, Bill Manzi for Mayor of Methuen. The endorsement, which discussed the Police Department as well as other issues, cited the willingness to make tough decisions as well as some of our accomplishments. From the Tribune:
In the mayoral race, incumbent Mayor William Manzi has shown his willingness to make the tough decisions needed to restore order and good leadership to the Police Department. For that reason and for his other accomplishments, we urge voters to re-elect Mayor Manzi.
I am proud to have this endorsement, and believe it accurately reflects some of the real differences between the candidates. I will do a further post on those differences shortly. Read the Tibune article at this link.
Your Honor,
I have been watching the op-ed pages in the Trib. for quite a while.
I notice you have been taking some hits from people who dislike the way you run the city. I hear George Bush like comments.
One fellow says he was moving out of Methuen because of you.
Now your in the big league.
Well, keep a stiff upper lip.You got my vote.
Besides, I believe you are committed to giving me a property tax cut. (You missed the cut in the last tax mailing.)
Good luck.

Jules,
Thank you for those kind words. I appreciate the sentiment. (I guess on some days I do know how W. feels.) That tax cut is right around the corner (as long as the Governor sends that extra money) . Thanks Jules.
