Bill Clinton Speaks

A good story by Chris Cilizza at “The Fix” over the re-emergence of Bill Clinton, with Cilizza speculating that Clinton is “still bitter”. Cilizza leaves some great tidbits from a Clinton interview with Larry King, which is below in video. From that interview and The Fix:

On experience, Hillary Rodham Clinton and John McCain: “The experience issue, at least in the Democratic primary, was virtually irrelevant to people . . . maybe prior public service and hard effort, making hard decisions, maybe doesn’t amount to anything.”

• On his wife’s (and his own) support for Obama: “If you look at what Hillary has done, she has already done more for him, notwithstanding the unusual circumstances of this primary, than any runner up has in a nominating process in 40 years.”

• On his role in the campaign: “I just don’t believe that, you know, getting up here and hyperventilating about Governor Palin or Senator McCain, for that matter, is a productive use of a former president’s time, and is not a vote-getter.”

• On the Palin pick: “I think that she and her husband and their kids come cross gutsy, spirited and real. . . . I think it’s best to say that Senator McCain looks like he knew what he was doing. He picked somebody who gave him a lot of energy, a lot of support.”

I wonder if President Clinton missed the Couric interview with Palin.

On John McCain Clinton said:

In describing their relationship, Clinton said of McCain: “I like him and I admire him.” He went on to note that the Arizona senator had helped him normalize relations with Vietnam and fight the ethnic cleansing in Bosnia and Kosovo.

Of course President Clinton expressed his reservations about McCains political positions, and said Obama was correct on those issues. But I think Cilizza hit the nail right on the head when he said that the Clinton support for Obama was “clinical”. Read Cilizza at “The Fix” here.

    Your Honor,

I guess this would seem important if the country wasn’t hanging on by their fingernails while our banking issues are resolved.

In the field of engineering this video will be called vapor ware.

You got to stick to the big issues. Your running a YouTube blog here. Palin’s gaffs and Bidenisms, the longer it goes the more video’s.

    Jules,

Damn, you rank right up there among the biggest of the flip-floppers!! Is that the way the wind is blowing on foxsnooze today?! Because it was only one week ago, you were talking about there not being a financial crisis!

    Jim,

I said the ECONOMY is ok. People working. This is a banking crisis. Could end up with us having no money of value. (Then the economy has problems).
I was using the media description as that is what is holding peoples attention.

Where do you get your news?
