The National Rifle Association has waded heavily into the presidential race, unleashing a series of ads attacking Obama and attempting to exploit the controversy over his “guns and religion” comments during the primaries. The N.R.A. did some major political damage to Al Gore in 2000, and remain a potent force in some states. A definite political plus for McCain, and something that Obama must essentially ignore, since a political war with the N.R.A. is not going to be helpful in this race.

Your Honor,
I thought Obama’s “bitter” comment was personally offenses.
This ad was not a “hit” piece, but a simple view, which I share.
Your are right, Obama should ignore these ads as it will gain him nothing.

The NRA is a garbage organization who uses bogus scare tactics to get people to send in money so their leaders can live comfortably. They have done next to nothing in Massachusetts where we have some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country. I know several gun enthusiasts in this state who have canceled their memberships with the NRA because they weren’t getting anything out of it.
And I’ll back up my bogus scare tactics statement, starting with Obama:

And their b.s. about the so called UN handgun ban, where they sent millions of members notice about an attempt to ban handguns worldwide on July 4th, using the date as a patriotic inducer – despite the fact that the UN is closed on that date because of the holiday :

Your Honor,
I followed the Washington DC court case which declared the gun restriction law Washington enacted unconstitutional. Now Washington is trying to work the threshold of the 2nd amendment to accomplish what it started out to do.
I have seen the legislature in mass enact restrictive laws which all but made gun rights attainable. Meanwhile Boston and Lawrence carry on with a murder rate that would make Bagdad proud. As a thinking person I supose the people who do the killings are not purchasing guns legally at gun stores.
For these reasons the NRA fights back hard.
Now if you want scare tactics, check the fear presented by the ads to counter placing a small percent of social security into private accounts. “It will destroy Social Security”.
