It appears that Barack Obama has agreed to the three debates sponsored by the Presidential Debate Commission but no more. The NY Times is reporting that Obama appears to have rejected the joint town hall appearances suggested by the McCain campaign, although the Obama camp blamed McCain. McCains campaign pounced, ridiculing Obama as an international celebrity who would feel it beneath himself to make such joint appearances. Obama is apparently going to play it safe. I do not believe Obama should shy away from more debate, as McCain,in my opinion,is more likely to make a mistake. But fear of error should never guide these decisions,

Your Honor,
What is Obama afraid of? I have heard him answer off-the-cuff questions and respond with, umm..ummm…ahh.umm followed by a torturous obfuscated answer. So maybe he can’t speak extemporaneously as well as when it is prepared. It is probably the reason he does not want a town hall or direct debate format.
We do agree Obama should not avoid the “free for all” debate. It would be fun and probably more enlightening.
I would like to make an observation. The McCain adds are light compared to the 527 adds of the past, and probably the future. George Soros and the MoveOn.org gang will see to that.

Well I agree that the worst is yet to come, and I agree that the dems will likely have a couple of hard hitting 527 ads. But you seem to forget to mention the masters of the low blow, the Republican 527 groups. How about Lee Atwater teaching all them good old boys how to smear and tear down. Were the Swift Boat ads Republican 527 ads or from MoveOn.org?

This he’s-a-celebrity meme the Republicans are now kicking around is seriously cracking me up. For starters, it’s wholly unbelievable. Also, because it’s coming directly from McSame’s campaign, it’s erasing years of work on the Senator from Arizona’s image, turning him into a nice old chap who’s friendly and honest. Oops.
Best of all, though, is the fact that I think it’ll totally blow up in their faces, even without the other two truths listed above. Why? America is obsessed with the celebrity. Really, the fact that Obama’s the world’s biggest celebrity, as McCain’s commercial exclaims, would only make American voters – especially those who typically check out – all the more likely to check back in and vote for their cool celeb.

Obama gives obfuscated answers to off the cuff questions?! Well I’m guessing he at least remembers the questions immediately after they’ve been asked…unlike this guy:

Some responses:
Your Honor, you are reacting to the IDEAA of a Swift Boat add. Can you provide proof that the substance is false? Actually, I cannot prove they are true. Unless we flesh out the substance, the add is an opinion of people who knew him and do not respect him. Remember when Ted Kennedy brought in those union people to denigrade Romney in their Senate race. It was a pre-527, 527.
Ryan, you think Barak is not a celebrity? 200,000 to 300,000 people showed up in Germany. The OBAM apostle Media, swarmed during his “Celebrity Tour”. I wonder if any of these reports had thrills running up their collective legs?
I then ask the question, with your “blow up in their faces” prediction, why are they tied in the polls.
This should not be.
Let’s keep it up, this is fun.

PS. Barak Obama is still afraid to go head to head with McCain in a free for all debate.

Both nominees should debate in an open forum at least once every week till election day. Mr Obama makes a mistake refusing McCain’s challenge.
But what is even more amazing is the fact that things are tightening up in Massachusetts according to your cousin’s latest poll. His Suffolk poll has been consistently right.
What will the vote be in Methuen?

Your question on Methuen may be a good subject for our next contest.Without looking at any election data I think the history in Methuen shows national elections to be about 50-50, with the edge to the republicans. On that basis the early “line” has McCain as a slight favorite.Do you agree?
